It offers group and individual training sessions, as well as the possibility to take part in training abroad. Thus, Merck favours the know-how transfer between Europe and Thailand in various research fields. In-house training includes courses on technical knowledge, self-improvement and computer skills. Merck also hires external trainers from the headquarter, the Dale Carnegie Training Co. and the APM Group – representing the American Management Association (AMA) in Thailand. They give training sessions in leadership skills, sales and marketing as well as project management. Furthermore, guest speakers from the private and public sectors as well as local universities are invited on a regular basis for presentations covering a large range of issues.

Cooperation with universities – a mutual benefit
As an open-minded and caring company, Merck Thailand cooperates closely with universities and is aware of the mutual benefit that this creates. Merck offers the opportunity to students from European and Thai universities to realize projects under a well-established management internship program.
Since 1996, more than 60 projects have been carried out in various fields such as marketing, supply chain management, e-commerce, human resources and finance. Within an international cooperation program, trainees from the headquarter in Germany also had the opportunity to realize part of their training at Merck Thailand. Furthermore, Merck shares its knowledge and expertise in safety management with local universities by organizing student visits to the Chemicals Distribution Center.
